My Journey with The Neatest Nest

A New Venture

When I embarked on the journey of creating The Neatest Nest, my goal was to discover something that would provide fulfillment while allowing me to contribute to the world. At that point in my life, I had devoted all my time and energy to raising my children and caring for my family. However, as my kids grew more independent, I started to feel a sense of emptiness. I realized it was time to seek an opportunity where I could dedicate my time and energy outside of my family responsibilities. Additionally, I wanted this new endeavor to generate income, but it was essential that it did not consume all my time—family would always be my priority.

Soul Searching

During my soul-searching phase, I repeatedly asked myself, “What do I love to do?” in hopes of inspiring some ideas for enjoyable work. Simultaneously, I informed my friends that I was open to new opportunities and encouraged them to share any interesting prospects. It soon became clear to me that I had a passion for cleaning, organizing, and home improvement. With that information, I needed to find a way to weave that into my life. To maintain control over my schedule, I launched my own business through word of mouth. I acquired numerous cleaning clients, some organization projects, and even took on painting and decorating jobs. This arrangement worked perfectly for me, allowing me to earn extra income on my own terms.

In addition to the cleaning business, I thought starting a blog could be a great idea. Initially, my goal was to earn a little extra income by becoming an Amazon Associate and eventually monetizing the blog. I began by sharing cleaning and organizing tips and tricks, and over time, I expanded into topics like goal setting, travel, and family life. I’ve always had a love for reading and writing, so blogging became a creative outlet—one that allowed me to explore my interests while seeing if it could also generate some income.

A New Opportunity

Shortly after establishing my cleaning business, my friend Jillian mentioned an opportunity presented by one of her clients. The client, Jennifer, was a real estate agent seeking an assistant. Having always been interested in real estate, I saw this job as a perfect fit since it allowed for flexible, remote work. I met Jennifer at a local Starbucks, and we immediately connected. She began training me on her systems and real estate transactions, and I even gained her as one of my cleaning clients.

Overall, things were progressing well. I had a steady stream of cleaning clients and was actively assisting Jennifer. I was bringing in some income, and I still managed to spend quality time with my family. For a couple of years, I continued to take on occasional organization clients while deepening my understanding of real estate through my work with Jennifer.

Career change from cleaning to real estate

Eventually, Jennifer decided to transition from her previous brokerage, Weichert, to Keller Williams. With this change, she inquired if I would be interested in expanding my role. I was eager to advance my real estate career and ready to commit the necessary time and energy. I began taking on more responsibilities as her transaction coordinator and eventually pursued my real estate licensure.

Licensed as a realtor in December 2024, I joined The D’Alesandro Realty Group of Keller Williams in Moorestown, NJ. My free time was dedicated to attending classes, hosting open houses, creating social media content, and launching my real estate career—all while continuing my cleaning business and expanding my responsibilities as a transaction coordinator. The workload became overwhelming, and I realized something had to give. While my cleaning business had served me well in the short term, it was taxing on my body with minimal reward. I needed to focus entirely on my real estate career to succeed. Fortunately, my cleaning clients were all friends who understood my decision.

The Neatest Nest

As we all know, social media is crucial for promoting any business or service, so I knew I had to leverage it for success. I decided not to let the effort I put into creating this blog go to waste. Although my initial vision revolved around cleaning, organizing, travel, and living your best life, I plan to pivot it slightly to align with my new venture.

With my first post as a real estate agent, Weekend Warrior: Low-Cost Projects to Increase Home Value – The Neatest Nest, I believe I’ve achieved that. The information shared can be beneficial whether or not you’re planning to sell your home soon. I hope to maintain the essence of my original idea for the blog while also introducing a new category titled “Real Estate.” Here, I will share informative content related to buying, selling, investing, or renting. I invite you to join me on this new adventure! My hope is that you continue to find value in the content I share. If you need a realtor or want more information about starting a career in real estate, you know who to call!
